Can you pronounce and identify what is on the label?
Is there a nutritional facts label? (A “supplement” label is not regulated by the FDA).
Does the product have NSF certification, which certifies what is on the label is in the product, nothing more and nothing less?
Has the product had clinical research to support the efficacy of the product?
