HELLO & WELCOME
My name is Kristy Richendollar and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified in Integrative Medicine & Nutrition for Trauma Treatment. I had dreamed of being a therapist at a young age, but I didn’t pursue this dream until I had some life experiences, grief and growth. A monumental moment in my young 22 year old life was losing my first husband and best friend to cancer. I started to pay more attention to my own health and wellness at that point, and incorporated exercise, particularly running and playing volleyball a few times per week. I didn’t want to make changes to my diet, because frankly, I didn’t think I needed to.
Many years later, I learned about the power of nutrition when my son was a toddler and he was constantly sick. We started incorporating more whole food nutrition into our daily life and it made a huge difference in how we felt, energy levels and immune functioning.
I have found in my 5+ years of clinical practice that you cannot address mental health without addressing the body, spirit and environment because all of these contribute to overall wellness. I decided to pursue a certification in Integrative Medicine & Nutrition for Trauma Treatment and I am so excited to share what I’ve learned with clients who wish to utilize complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) to support their mental, emotional and physical health outcomes. Together, we will establish a plan for you which will address your beliefs, interests and goals.
3 FUN FACTS about Kristy!
I moved to North Carolina in 2014, but spent my life in the Midwest (Ohio, Indiana & Illinois) before moving to “The Tarheel State”. I’ll always be a Buckeye!
Both my mom and dad’s sides of the family were farmers! They grew corn, wheat and soybeans, and I’ve had many combine rides in my life. I think that the mark they left on me helped me learn to love gardening and growing my own food!
My favorite things: coffee, Mexican food, cooking, time with my family, being on the lake or the beach, nature, laughing, and my role as a soccer and dance mom.
